Solutions Architect
The Solutions Architect is a senior technical and commercial advisor responsible for shaping, designing, and communicating innovative technology solutions that drive digital transformation across cloud, cyber security, and modern infrastructure initiatives. Acting as the bridge between clients, delivery teams, and the board, this role combines deep technical expertise with strategic and commercial insight.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years’ hands‑on technical experience within cloud, cyber, or digital transformation projects, and be capable of translating complex requirements into clear, succinct, and persuasive technical documentation.
This role also plays a key part internally — supporting the IT Helpdesk with complex issues, contributing to organisational improvement projects, and acting as a trusted confidant to the board. The Solutions Architect will identify and recommend operational efficiency improvements, assist in project management oversight, and help shape the company’s delivery and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Architecture
* Lead the design of technical solutions aligned to client needs across cloud, infrastructure, and security domains.
* Analyse business and technical requirements to produce robust architectures and delivery roadmaps.
* Ensure solutions are technically sound, scalable, and commercially viable while remaining vendor-agnostic.
Client Engagement & Advisory
* Represent GenAIT as the senior technical lead in client workshops and presentations (onsite and virtual).
* Translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes for executive stakeholders.
* Support pre‑sales activities through technical discovery, scoping, and proposal development.
Documentation & Governance
* Draft Statements of Work, proposals, and scope documents that are concise, accurate, and persuasive.
* Review and refine technical and commercial documentation to maintain consistency and quality.
* Ensure deliverables adhere to internal governance, compliance, and risk standards.
Internal Improvement & Operational Support
* Support the IT Helpdesk in complex issue resolution, providing senior‑level guidance and mentorship.
* Contribute to internal improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery, automation, and efficiency.
* Act as a close confidant to the board, providing insight on operational efficiency, delivery optimisation, and organisational improvement.
* Participate in project management and governance activities, ensuring alignment between strategy, delivery, and client outcomes.
Collaboration & Leadership
* Work closely with Project Managers and Delivery Teams to ensure seamless execution of approved solutions.
* Mentor and guide junior engineers or consultants to enhance overall technical capability.
* Contribute to GenAIT’s internal frameworks, methodologies, and service standards.
Commercial & Strategic Input
* Evaluate commercial implications of technical decisions, balancing functionality, scalability, and cost.
* Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, and business cases.
* Maintain awareness of market trends and emerging technologies to inform GenAIT’s strategic roadmap.
Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience
Required:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in technical solution design, architecture, or consultancy.
* Strong technical background in Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and Cyber Security (Zero Trust, NIST, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials).
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills — confident with C‑suite engagement.
* Demonstrable commercial understanding of Statements of Work, scopes, and proposals.
* Ability to write succinct, persuasive, and well‑structured documentation.
* Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and relationship‑building skills.
* Experience in Managed Services, systems integration, or consulting environments.
Preferred:
* Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect, TOGAF, or CISSP.
* Experience leading or contributing to organisational improvement or project governance initiatives.
* Familiarity with ITIL service design and delivery frameworks.
* Interest in career progression toward management or senior leadership.
