The Business
This is a well-established manufacturing operation within food manufacturing. The site operates a across multiple shift patterns in a just in time environment where pace and accuracy are critical. The business is part of a wider international group, with opportunities to share best practice across sites.
The Role
As Plant Manager, you will take full responsibility for site operations and set the standard day to day.
• Take ownership of operations, driving output, reducing waste and delivering production targets
• Lead and develop the site team, building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Manage production planning and forecasting to ensure orders are delivered on time
• Drive health and safety standards across a labour-intensive environment
• Work closely with engineering to maximise uptime and manage maintenance activity
• Maintain high standards of food safety and quality compliance
The Person
This Plant Manager role needs someone who can step in, take control and lead from the front.
• Proven experience as a Plant Manager or senior operations leader within FMCG
• Background in food manufacturing
• Strong production planning and forecasting capability
• Experience managing shift-based teams and associated people processes
• Able to operate independently and make sound commercial decisions
• Strong commitment to health and safety in a hands-on environment
Desirable:
• Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement
• Comfortable working in a sustainability-focused business
