Summary of the Regional Finance & Administration (Placement Student) role
As the Regional Finance & Administration (Placement Student) you will gain practical experience in regional and site-based finance activities within a manufacturing setting, insight into how financial decisions impact production, supply chain, and operations, and development of professional skills in reporting, analysis, and administration. You will be mentored by experienced finance and management professionals, building a strong foundation for future roles in finance, accounting, or business operations.
Based at our site in Cramlington you will work a shift pattern of Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.35pm based on site. This is a temporary, 12-month basis. You will report directly to the Site Financial Controller, supporting the regional day‑to‑day financial processes and contributing to business reporting and decision making. This role offers exposure to real‑world business operations, giving you practical skills that complement your academic studies.
Your Responsibilities
* Analyse revenue and cost data, production figures, and operational KPIs to support decision‑making.
* Help prepare financial reports, analysis, and presentations for management.
* Assist with daily and monthly financial transactions, including invoice processing, purchase orders, operating costs, revenue recognition calculations and product costing.
* Support month‑end and year‑end activities.
* Maintain accurate financial records and help update internal reporting systems.
* Provide general administrative support to the Finance and Operations teams.
* Coordinate documentation and record‑keeping in line with company procedures.
* Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes when required.

Requirements For The Role
* Currently studying a degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
* Good attention to detail and accuracy.
* Willingness to learn, ask questions, and work collaboratively.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
* Competent with Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
* Excellent customer service and a good telephone manner.
