Civil Senior Design Engineer - Environment
Location: Solihull / Grangemouth (Scotland) / Nottingham (Annesley) / Warrington / Bristol

What you will be doing:
As Senior Design Engineer, you will be a key member of the Engineering Design Team, working with Principal Engineers, Design Teams, Design Managers, and Design Leads to deliver high-quality designs in line with GT processes, BMS, and H&S Regulations. This technical role involves direct project engagement, requiring expertise in water and wastewater industry design. You may have line management responsibilities for design engineers and others as needed.
You will provide technical guidance, foster innovations, contribute to engineering governance, ensure design integration across disciplines, support procurement activities, and assist site operations. Mentoring and sharing knowledge with early-career engineers will also be part of your role.
About You:
* Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
* Proven experience (+ years) in Municipal Water and Wastewater industries, working with clients like Severn Trent, Scottish Water, Yorkshire Water, United Utilities, Thames Water, Southern Water.
* Chartered Member of a recognized professional body (preferred).
* Experience in contracting/consulting environments with commercial awareness.
* Knowledge of civil design for water and wastewater systems, inlet works, tanks, chambers within WTW and WWTW.
* Understanding of H&S legislation and British Standards.
* Experience with QA and H&S procedures, producing/supporting calculations and reports.
Ideally you will have:
* Hydraulic knowledge and experience with hydraulic calculations.
* Knowledge of structural design of water retaining structures and RC detailing (desirable).
* Experience liaising with clients on technical matters, attending meetings, understanding NEC contracts.
* Competence with IMS requirements, communication skills, team leadership, and mentoring abilities.
