Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Lead Software Engineer to work at the forefront of our cloud modernisation, within our Credit & Verification Services. This is a hybrid role requiring travelling to Nottingham / London office circa 40% per month reporting into Engineering Director.
Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality software solutions within agreed timelines, ensuring alignment with business requirements and Agile principles.
* Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for high-quality software solutions.
* Take ownership of the overall technical architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and maintainability of the software systems.
* Champion the adoption of best practices in software development, including clean code, maintainability, efficient coding standards, and DevSecOps practices.
* Collaborate with cross-functional team members.
* Manage technical risks and issues, proactively identifying potential challenges and developing mitigation strategies.
* Provide clear and concise documentation for code, processes, and system architecture.
* Mentor senior and junior developers, providing technical expertise and code reviews.
* Hands‑on experience with .NET 6+ or .NET Core or .NET Framework building scalable REST/SOAP/RPC APIs with proficiency in C#.
* Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized application development, deployment, and orchestration.
* Experience leading large software teams.
* Able to articulate complex ideas, solutions, and feedback to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
* Experience building secure, mission‑critical, high‑volume transaction web‑based software systems, in regulated environments.
Qualifications
* Experience leading large software teams.
* Hands‑on experience with .NET 6+ or .NET Core or .NET Framework building scalable REST/SOAP/RPC APIs with proficiency in C#.

* Strong communication skills and ability to work in an Agile environment.
