Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bar & Events Manager to join our team at Pine Ridge Golf Club. You will be responsible for providing an excellent customer journey to members, guests and visitors that maximises sales within the club. Ensuring the required cleanliness and service standards in the bar and events areas are met.
We are a 7 day a week business therefore days of work will vary and will include weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
Job Responsibilities
· Oversee all bar and clubhouse activities, ensuring exceptional presentation, smooth service, and a consistently high‑quality guest experience.
· Work closely with the Clubhouse Manager, Head Chef, Sales Manager and wider team to coordinate service, events, and operational priorities.
· Act as Duty Manager in the absence of senior leadership, taking full responsibility for the Club's operation.
· Ensure all members, guests, and colleagues are welcomed warmly and professionally.
· Manage and resolve customer concerns promptly, escalating where appropriate.
· Host and oversee Club functions and events, ensuring seamless delivery from start to finish.
* Lead, motivate, and support the clubhouse team, delivering daily briefings covering duties, events, menus, targets, and health & safety updates.
* Oversee team performance, attendance, and compliance with company standards using HR and payroll systems.
* Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training to develop a skilled, engaged, and high-performing team.
* Ensure all team members always adhere to department dress code and presentation standards.
* Conduct regular one-to-one catchups with team members and actively contribute to senior management meetings.
* Create and manage the weekly staff schedules at least two weeks in advance, utilising the workforce management system to plan, request, and deploy appropriate resource levels in line with operational requirements and budgeted payroll.
· Manage stock security, ordering, and wastage control for beverages, bar snacks, and consumables.
· Lead weekly stock checks, cellar management duties, and monthly stock‑take processes.
· Ensure tills are updated and daily takings are accurately recorded.
· Complete rotas within deadlines to support accurate payroll and budget control.
· Maintain strict adherence to all opening, closing, and cash‑handling procedures.
· Conduct regular checks to ensure all clubhouse areas are clean, safe, and presented to the highest standard.
· Complete accident reporting and ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies.
· Work with the Head Chef to uphold food safety and hygiene standards across the F&B operation.
· Support the Clubhouse Operations Manager with compliance tasks and audit preparation.
· Ensure all new team members receive appropriate safety training and follow established procedures.
· Act as a positive ambassador for Pine Ridge Golf Club and its values at all times.
· Carry out any additional duties reasonably required within the scope of the role.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
· Strong customer service background.
· Previous supervisory or managerial experience in hospitality or a similar environment.
Desirable
· Diploma or higher qualification in hospitality management or related field.
· Food Safety Certification.
· Health & Safety qualifications.
· Cellar management experience.
