An Associate Project Manager is required to join a design consultancy in the North-East. Candidates can be based out of North Yorkshire or West Yorkshire but must be willing to attend the office in North Yorkshire regularly. As an Associate Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Highways projects using both JCT and NEC contracts, covering both public and private sector Highways infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include assisting with tender applications, agreeing on contract terms, preparing contract documents, attending and leading meetings regularly, discussing and solving issues such as defective works, contract term ambiguity and other disputes as required, supporting the finance team with project financial management, and managing and administering NEC contracts.
Responsibilities
The role involves managing and administering NEC contracts and handling a portfolio of Highways projects using JCT and NEC contracts across public and private sector highways infrastructure. Key tasks include:
* Assisting with tender applications
* Agreeing on contract terms and preparing contract documents
* Attending and leading meetings regularly
* Discussing and solving issues such as defective works, contract term ambiguity and disputes as required
* Supporting the finance team with project financial management
* Managing and administering NEC contracts
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
* Relevant qualification in Construction Project Management or Construction Management
* Experience working on both public and private highways, infrastructure and/or civil engineering projects with NEC3 or NEC4 forms of contracts
* Experience delivering a portfolio of contracts valued at £5m or over
* Strong stakeholder and contractor management skills
* Technical report writing skills
* Pre- and post- contract knowledge
* Full UK driving license with vehicle
* Ability to work both as a team and independently under your own initiative
