Field Motor Engineer South West England
The ideal candidate will be based around the M3 or M5 Corridor, Salisbury, Yeovil, Exeter area.
Opportunity: Join a great team. You will be qualified to a minimum of I.A.E.A or ATA (VDA) standard with current or past experience leading an engineering function for an insurer or independent firm. Responsibilities include valuing and negotiating repair costs, providing vehicle valuations, negotiating total loss settlements, and understanding salvage categories and claims management.
Experience with vehicle estimating systems such as Audatex, GT Motive, or Glass’s is essential. AQP qualification is preferred.
What will your day look like:
* Producing high-quality reports
* Assessing, valuing, and negotiating repair costs
* Providing vehicle valuations
* Negotiating total loss settlements
* Understanding salvage categories
* Claims management
* Liaising with the field planning team, repairers, and customers
* Supporting team members as needed
Knowledge and Abilities:
* Inspection scope from Cars to HGVs, agricultural implements, and caravans
* Resolving customer complaints
* Ensuring damage consistency
* Meeting reporting timescales within SLAs
* Contributing to a collaborative work environment
* Adapting to changing requirements and performing additional tasks
* Effective time management and workload prioritization
* Attention to detail, analytical thinking, solutions focus, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment using own initiative
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
