Salary: £39,121 - £46,023
Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks
Pennywell ELC opened in August 2024 as part of the MacMillan Hub, a community focused, collaborative location providing services for the local community through partnership with North Edinburgh Arts and the relocated Muirhouse library.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Early Years Officer to join our team on a fixed term to 31/05/2026. Pennywell ELC is a large setting with children from 0 to school age attending and is registered for 166 children. We are looking for an individual with a strong understanding of pedagogy who models this with every interaction with children, families and team members. This professional will demonstrate strong values and commitment to providing the highest quality experiences for children in our setting. They will be confident in addressing areas for development and will create focussed action plans to implement positive change.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Responsibilities
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of pedagogy and model it in interactions with children, families and team members.
* Identify areas for development and create focused action plans to implement positive change.
* Contribute to high quality experiences for children aged 0 to 5 in a 166-place setting.
Qualifications and Experience
* Broad range of experience across early years settings preferred.
* Relevant qualification(s) as required to apply (see attached documentation).
* Experience in leading or supporting development in early years settings is desirable.
