Highly Specialist Pharmacist W&C Directorate
Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Highly Specialist Pharmacist for the Women & Children Directorate. The closing date is 02 June 2026.
Role Summary
The post focuses on women’s, neonatal and paediatric care. It involves developing and managing clinical pharmacy services across the Directorate, collaborating with senior clinicians on medicines‑related cost pressures, and ensuring safe, effective, evidence‑based prescribing.
Band Structure
As part of the Trust’s development commitment, this role is considered a Band 7 opportunity. Applicants who do not meet Band 8a criteria will be appointed as Band 7 and, upon meeting key competencies within 24 months, may be uplifted to Band 8a.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide and manage pharmaceutical services to the Specialist Care Division & West London Children’s Healthcare Directorate.
* Work with senior clinicians to determine medicines‑related cost pressures.
* Monitor and review prescribing practice and collaborate with clinicians to ensure effective, safe, evidence‑based, and cost‑effective prescribing.
* Some roles may require weekend shifts at multiple sites.
Person Specification
* Vocational master’s degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent) and completion of pre‑registration training.
* Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain.
* Significant specialist experience in delivering paediatric (or neonatal) services at an advanced level.
* Significant specialist experience in delivering maternity services at an advanced level.
* Experience delivering education and training at a post‑graduate level.
* Experience supervising others.
* Registered independent Pharmacist prescriber.
* Clinical audit experience to improve practice.
* Staff management experience.
* Knowledge of TPN.
* Education and training in a multidisciplinary environment.

Probation and Salary
Employment is subject to a six‑month probationary period.
£63,665 to £70,887 a year, pro rata, inclusive of HCAS.
