We are Tosoh Quartz, Inc. (TQI), the world's leading manufacturer of quartz glassware for the semiconductor industry. With locations in Portland, OR and Durham, UK, we have been dedicated to quality and service since 1957. We develop and manufacture quartz products that enable semiconductor technologies. We are seeking a Process Engineer to support our products at Tosoh Quartz, Inc. in Durham.
As part of the Engineering team, the Process Engineer will collaborate to provide estimating support, optimize manufacturing processes, develop new techniques and products, and coordinate process improvement projects.
Schedule: 8:00 – 17:30 Monday – Thursday, and 8:00 – 12:00 Friday
Responsibilities:
* Review technical drawings to develop manufacturing plans, evaluate costs, and provide quotes.
* Partner with manufacturing to develop robust processes for new products.
* Support estimating on new products (~30%).
* Assist with Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and New Product Introduction (NPI).
* Develop and implement systems to increase efficiency and optimize processes.
* Support process design projects, ensuring safe and efficient production.
* Integrate new technology and environmentally friendly practices.
* Conduct system tests for efficiency and accuracy.
* Assess safety requirements and ensure safety in processes.
* Improve process capability, production volume, and quality standards.
* Collect, record, and report data.
* Maintain product and process documentation.
* Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field.
* 1+ years manufacturing experience in assembly, quality, or machining.
* Experience with engineering drawings and GD&T.
* Ability to interpret instructions and documents.
* Problem-solving skills with limited standardization.
* Ability to read safety and operational manuals.
* Good communication skills.
* Intermediate computer skills; MS Office experience.
