Quality Technician / Junior Quality Engineer Wetherby, West Yorkshire £30000 - £35000 Hours: Full-Time, Permanent Overview A fantastic opportunity for a detail-driven Quality Technician / Junior Quality Engineer to join a specialist manufacturing business producing high-performance technical textiles for demanding industrial, aerospace, automotive and engineering applications. This role supports daily quality activities across the full production lifecycle — from incoming material checks and in-process inspection to customer complaint investigations and continuous improvement projects. Ideal for someone with 1–3 years’ manufacturing quality experience who wants to progress into a full Quality Engineer role. Key Responsibilities Non-Conformance Management * Investigate NCRs using structured problem-solving tools (Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, Is/Is Not). * Quarantine, document and manage non-conforming materials and finished goods. * Support corrective and preventive actions, verifying effectiveness and tracking closure. Supplier Quality & Incoming Materials * Raise supplier NCRs and follow up with vendors to ensure corrective actions are implemented. * Support incoming inspection activities to maintain material standards. Customer Complaint Handling * Log and classify customer complaints in line with internal processes. * Carry out detailed investigations and prepare clear corrective action reports. * Ensure containment and corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence. Compliance & Documentation * Maintain quality records in line with ISO 9001 and customer requirements. * Support internal audits and contribute to the wider quality management system. * Update work instructions, inspection sheets and controlled documentation. Required Skills & Experience * Experience in quality control or inspection within manufacturing (1–3 years ideal). * Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to use structured quality tools. * Ability to read technical specifications and follow quality standards. * Accurate documentation and reporting abilities. * IT literate (Excel, QC/ERP systems). Preferred / Desirable * Exposure to textile processes (woven, nonwoven, coating, lamination) or willingness to learn. * Experience in technical textiles, aerospace, automotive or industrial manufacturing. * Familiarity with ISO 9001. * Internal audit training (ISO 9001) beneficial.
