Job Description
New Directions Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive and inclusive primary school in Wigan. This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role:
4. Working 1:1 or in small groups to support pupils with SEND, including those with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
5. Assisting the class teacher with differentiated activities and behaviour management strategies to help pupils access learning.
6. Supporting pupils’ emotional well-being and helping them to develop social and communication skills in a safe and structured environment.
7. Collaborating with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
8. Be compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about working with children.
9. Be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and register with the update service, if not already in place.
10. Be able to provide a reference from a recent employer or placement within the last 5 years.
