Join the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit.


Responsibilities

* The Mechanical Engineer will support the design of advanced thermal and fluid systems for the Fusion and Modular business unit.
* Provide analysis and calculation support across Cooling Water Island Systems.
* Contribute to an internal centre of excellence for analysis and calculation methodology.
* Generate static and transient flow and thermal analyses using various software tools.
* System design and integration.
* Produce, review, and update system documentation.
* Perform analysis to define system control philosophy.
* Size components and conduct thermal-hydraulic calculations and modeling.
* Formulate equipment specifications.


Qualifications

* Minimum 2:1 BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Relevant senior engineering experience in sectors such as offshore, renewables, nuclear, or other highly regulated industries.
* Solid background in mechanical and structural engineering.
* Proficient with CAD software: Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and/or Catia.
* Strong mathematical skills with experience in MathCAD.
* Skilled in producing technical reports and design/substantiation documentation.
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes, welding, and machining.
* Experience with the engineering design cycle from Concept to Manufacture.
* Familiar with European and Offshore standards (Eurocode 3 and DNV).
* Master’s degree is a plus.
* Skilled in checking and approving engineering CAD assemblies and drawings; proficient in verifying engineering documentation.
* Excellent Finite Element Analysis skills; knowledge of ANSYS Workbench; experience with non-linear and fatigue FEA is desirable.
