Job Overview
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the end-to-end delivery of custom solar PV projects, including ground-mounted and rooftop installations, from development handover through design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover to operations. Ensure safe, on-time, on-budget delivery to the highest technical and quality standards across projects of 10 MW and above.
Main Duties
Strategic & Leadership
1. Lead the Projects function, define delivery strategy, governance frameworks, and performance standards.
2. Build, mentor, and manage multi-disciplinary teams; drive culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
3. Own portfolio planning, resource forecasting, and prioritisation to meet business objectives.
4. Act as senior stakeholder interface with clients, investors, network operators, and regulatory bodies.
Project Delivery (EPC Lifecycle)
5. Accountable for EPC delivery across concept/detailed design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and energisation.
6. Ensure compliance with grid connection requirements, DNO/TSO standards, and power system integration.
7. Manage budgets, schedules, risk, change control, and contractual obligations (EPC, BoP, subcontractors).
8. Lead readiness reviews, FAT/SAT, and quality assurance/quality control across the lifecycle.
Health, Safety, Quality & Compliance
9. Champion a safety-first culture; ensure compliance with UK CDM and company/client HSEQ standards.
10. Lead incident prevention, audits, and corrective actions; embed lessons learned.
Commercial & Risk Management
11. Own commercial performance: cost control (CPI), schedule performance (SPI), cash flow, and contingency.
12. Oversee contract administration, claims avoidance/negotiation, and supplier performance.
What we are looking for
Essential Experience
13. Minimum 10 years' experience in the renewable energy sector with strong solar PV focus.
14. Proven delivery of ground-mounted and rooftop solar portfolios, including projects of 10 MW and above.
15. Team leadership experience managing senior PMs and construction professionals.
16. Demonstrable ownership of EPC design, engineering, construction, and commissioning.
Qualifications (Essential)
17. Professional Project Management qualification: PMP or IPMA (Level B/C+) or a Degree in Project Management.
18. Health & Safety qualification: NEBOSH (General or Construction) or IOSH Managing Safely (minimum).
19. Degree in Engineering/Construction Management/Energy (or equivalent experience
