Salary: £31,074 - £33,294 per annum (pro rata for part time)

Working Hours: 281.2 annualised hours (7.4 hours a week for 38 weeks)

Contract Type: Fixed term for 12 months initially

Leicestershire Music is looking for a dynamic and forward thinking drum kit teacher to join our growing vibrant team as we are looking to expand our offer.

This exciting role involves delivering 1:1 and small group tuition across schools in the area. We’re seeking someone passionate about music education who can inspire young musicians and actively contribute to the musical life of schools and the wider community.

About the Role

We’re seeking someone passionate about music education who can inspire young musicians and actively contribute to the musical life of schools and the wider community.

Key responsibilities

We are looking for:

1. A skilled drum kit teacher with experience of working with children and young people
2. Creative, enthusiastic and reliable, with strong communication and organisational skills
3. A flexible and willingness to travel across Leicestershire schools
4. Experience in leading group activities or band sessions is a strong advantage
5. The ability to teach orchestral percussion would be an advantage

Key responsibilities

6. Deliver engaging and effective drum lessons
7. Support and lead after-school music activities and school holiday clubs
8. Play a key role in developing and facilitating our brand new Leics Rock project
9. Create and run new music clubs and creative activities that encourage participation and musical growth

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

10. To teach to a high standard.
11. To plan and prepare high quality lessons, rehearsals, performances and music examination entry, including the development of resources and the preparation and arrangement of music as required.
12. To assess, keep accurate records and report on pupils’ progress to a range of stakeholders
13. To ensure good discipline and behaviour with due regard for pupil’s health, safety and well-being
14. To comply with all policies and procedures in relation to safeguarding, child protection, data protection and health and safety
15. Carry out all duties in accordance with Leicestershire Music’s equal opportunities policy with respect to the staff and public, actively promoting equality and seeking to prevent and overcome disadvantage and discrimination
16. Responsible for protecting and managing information securely, and reporting breaches or suspected information security breaches, in line with Council policies
