Audiology Clerical Officer

Our busy Audiology service is looking for a reliable, and dependable Band 2 Clerical officer to join our administration team.

If you are a good team worker and are able to provide a high standard of patient‑centred care, are kind, caring, professional and flexible, then you may be the person we are looking for.

This role encompasses both Adults and Paediatrics.


Main duties of the job

The post holder will work at both Sandringham Road Clinic and Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

As a service, we provide a full range of adult and paediatric diagnostic and rehabilitative services.

As a band 2 Clerical Officer, your main role will be to provide admin support to the Audiology Team to help ensure the smooth running of our service. The role would consist of maintaining accurate patient notes, filing, imputing data onto Trust and Audiology systems, answering the telephones and dealing with patient enquiries. Effective team work and a keen focus on the Trusts Vision & Values are essential.

The successful applicant will have a good level of education and be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, while having the ability to stay focused in a busy environment. You will also have good keyboard skills with a high level of accuracy and the ability to work individually and as part of a team. A working knowledge of Trust systems would be an advantage.

Person Specification


Knowledge & Experience

* Experience working with the general public
* Experience handling telephone calls
* Experience within an administration role
* Experience working in a patient facing post
* Previous experience working with people with hearing and communication difficulties


Qualifications & Training

* GCSE Maths grade C or above (or equivalent)
* GCSE English grade C or above (or equivalent)
* Competent use of basic computer programmes.
* Knowledge of the Trusts patient management system (CAMIS)
* Knowledge of the audiology patient management system (Audit Base)


Personal Attributes & Skills

* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Tactful
* Ability to work within a team
* Ability to work unsupervised
* Ability to grasp new concepts
* Self‑motivated
* Flexible
* Able to deal with individuals with hearing difficulties.
