RSPB Ynys-hir reserve, Ceredigion Mid Wales is a gem of an RSPB reserve. Covering over 800 hectares from Celtic oak woods, saltmarsh and wet grasslands it is full of wildlife and attracts visitors all year. On arrival our visitors are welcomed to the site in the Visitor Centre – and this is where we need you. We are looking for people friendly volunteers to welcome all our visitors ensuring that they have a wonderful experience with us. We currently have space for Sunday Volunteers.
You must be happy talking to a variety of people, enthusiastic about what to see and do on site, happy using a till and stocking up in the centre when needed. We are a friendly team. All training will be provided. Min age for this role is 18 years.
Nature is in trouble, there aren’t many places left where wildlife can thrive, that is why we want to welcome more people to these places.
Full training and support will be provide for this role but you do need to be a ‘people person’ and have good communication skills.
This is a really rewarding and enjoyable role. You will be working with a friendly team on a beautiful nature reserve, you will have the opportunity to make new friends and spend time outdoors. You will get to meet loads of new people in this role, enjoying conversation and helping people have a wonderful visit.
There is always the opportunity to learn new things and gain skills through volunteering, by working on a reserve, you’ll naturally learn all about how nature reserves are managed and the wildlife that is found there.
