We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Senior Health Care Support Worker to join theCommunity Learning Disability Health Team in Barnsley.This is a full-time Band 3 permanent post.
You will join anexperienced, well-established, and committed specialist multi-disciplinary teamwho are based in Barnsley. The Team consistsof a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team including Learning DisabilityNurses, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists,physiotherapist, speech & language therapists, dietician, therapyassistants and healthcare support workers. The Team works together to supportindividuals aged 18 and over with diagnosed learning disabilities and theirfamilies/carers
Atthe time of advertising, this role is eligible for sponsorship under the Healthand Care Worker visa. However, sponsorship can only be offered if the proratedsalary meets the minimum salary threshold of £25,000 set by UK Visa andImmigration.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a compassionate, excellentcommunicator as a Senior Support worker, who can work under the supervision ofthe nursing team, to deliver plannedprogrammes of care to people with learning disabilities. Examples include,supporting service users to understand their health needs, promoting annualhealth checks, completing hospital passports. You would support service usersto health appointments when appropriate, support their understanding inappointments, and provide health education, make and use resources, e.g.: easyread. You will work with carers and families, in different care settings, youwill have a case load under the supervision of a named nurse, you need to beflexible, organised and able to prioritise your workload in the best interestof the service user.
You will be expected to engagein management and clinical supervision.
Working hours are: 9am-5pmMonday to Friday(except Bankholidays). Car access is essential.
