Cranfield University is recruiting for three exciting new roles within our newly established Process Automation and Improvement Team. These posts offer an excellent opportunity to shape and deliver modern digital solutions that enable smarter, more efficient ways of working across the University.

We welcome applications from forward-thinking digital specialists who are passionate about innovation, collaboration and using technology to drive organisational improvement.

Available Roles

1. Senior Power Platform Business Process Specialist – Team Leader

Salary: £48,039 – £57,797 per annum, with potential progression to £70,000

As the team leader, you will oversee the Process Automation and Improvement Team, guiding the development of Power Platform solutions and driving a programme of automation and process enhancement across the University. You will lead projects, support colleagues, engage with stakeholders, and ensure the successful delivery of initiatives that improve efficiency and enhance user experience.

2. Senior Power Platform Business Process Specialist

Salary: £48,039 – £57,797 per annum, with potential progression to £70,000

As a senior specialist within the team, you will develop, manage and optimise Power Platform solutions, working within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem to streamline processes and deliver high-value digital tools. You will lead improvement projects, analyse business needs, support users, mentor colleagues in low-code development, and contribute to the University’s wider transformation programme.

3. Power Platform Business Process Specialist

Salary: £37,337 – £44,906 per annum, with potential progression to £51,298

In this role, you will design and deliver Power Platform solutions—primarily using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI—to support process improvements across the University. You will analyse requirements, collaborate with stakeholders, drive automation initiatives, and help build capability across the institution by training and supporting colleagues involved in smaller-scale improvement work.

About You (All Roles)

You will bring a strong foundation in IT, alongside hands-on experience with the Microsoft Power Platform—particularly Power Apps and Power Automate. You will have experience in business process analysis, collaborating with stakeholders, and delivering digital solutions that improve efficiency and user experience.

Depending on the role level, you will also bring experience in staff management or mentoring, systems integration and solution architecture. Excellent communication, problem-solving and organisational skills are essential, as is a commitment to continuous improvement and user-focused design.
