Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer with proven Typescript and NodeJS expertise to join the talented software development team in our vehicle telematics business. You will play a key role in developing and running a complex multi‑environment SaaS product built on 70+ git repositories, using modern microservice back‑end built in Typescript / NodeJS / Docker on AWS and automated CI/CD pipelines released onto terraform‑provisioned infrastructure.
We embrace an Agile way of working, but we know success also requires grit, ownership, and a willingness to step beyond conventional roles.
What You'll Be Doing
* Designing, building, and maintaining scalable and secure backend systems using node.js and typescript
* Working closely within a cross‑functional team and the wider group, with a focus on teamwork to achieve desired outcomes
* Leading by example, guiding the team through challenging situations with persistence and creative problem‑solving
* Supporting and mentoring junior developers, sharing expertise and fostering a culture of growth and excellence
* Taking the initiative to tackle critical challenges during high‑stakes situations
What We're Looking For
* Significant commercial experience as a backend developer, with knowledge gained across our tech stack:
o NodeJS, Typescript, Mocha, Sinon, Terraform, Git, Gitlab CICD, Docker
o AWS (ECS, EC2, Kinesis, Firehose, RDS, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS)
o Databases – Postgres, MySQL
* Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
* Ability to take ownership of projects from design to implementation
* Ability to actively contribute to Agile events, inspect and adapt ways of working, and provide solutions to keep development on track
