Finance Officer - Monday - Friday - 8.30am - 4pm
Term Time only
To start as soon as possible and run until April 10th 2026, in the first instance.
We are looking for a committed and detail-driven Finance Officer to join a busy and supportive school office team. This is a key role working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure the smooth and accurate running of the school’s financial operations. If you are organised, reliable and enjoy working in a varied role, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Role
You will be responsible for a wide range of day-to-day finance tasks including processing purchase orders and invoices, managing staff expenses, monitoring ParentPay activity, maintaining school financial records and handling school income. You will also support budget holders, liaise with suppliers, and play an important part in preparing for financial year-end.
A large part of the role involves communicating with staff, parents, suppliers and external partners, so a friendly, professional approach is essential. You’ll also support the wider school office team when needed to ensure a smooth and efficient service for the whole school community.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone with strong administrative and financial skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise work effectively. You should be confident working independently, able to meet deadlines, and comfortable handling confidential information. Experience with school finance systems (such as SIMS, FMS, Tali or ParentPay) is desirable but not essential — a willingness to learn and a proactive attitude are just as important.
You will thrive in this role if you enjoy variety, problem-solving, building positive relationships and taking ownership of your work. A commitment to safeguarding, equality and the ethos of the school is essential
