Your role will involve helping to prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that residents will enjoy. You will uphold high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Tasks include maintaining food supplies, managing fridge/freezer temperatures, training new staff on equipment, and cleaning up spills, always prioritizing resident wellbeing.
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant with some kitchen experience. Ideally, you will have an NVQ Level 2 in Catering or Food Preparation or be willing to study for one. Good record-keeping, organizational skills, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. You should communicate considerately and kindly with residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You must be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know how to respond appropriately. All staff are required to attend safeguarding training and undertake additional relevant training. You should be proactive in seeking advice and reporting concerns, including escalation if necessary.
