Overview
Deputy PACS Manager – Permanent, Band 7, Full Time. The Department of Radiology at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust seeks an enthusiastic and motivated Deputy PACS Manager to assist with the provision and evolution of Radiology IT systems, including the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Image Exchange Portal (IEP). The role covers support across three sites: Croydon University Hospital (CUH) and two community diagnostics centres at Purley War Memorial Hospital and New Addington.
Croydon University Hospital is a large urban DGH in South London, serving a diverse population. The department performs in excess of 300,000 examinations per year and has an active Clinical Governance programme. There are approximately 160 WTE staff in the Diagnostic Imaging department. The Radiology Department is undergoing significant investment in new equipment during 2025/26, including ultrasound units, a Cone Beam CT dental unit, plain X-ray, and a CT replacement.

Responsibilities
* To Deputise and support the Radiology PACS Manager
* The post holder will assist in managing the effective implementation, delivery and operation of a Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) to the Trust.
* Provide support to system users and ensure the system is functioning correctly across all Trust sites, working alongside IT and staff who ensure the delivery and quality of the system.
* To provide first line support to system users and take the lead responsibility for staff training (radiology and non-radiology staff), developing training plans and participating in training programmes.
* To deputise for Radiology PACS Manager as the link between Radiology, the Information Technology department, internal and external users, including other PACS Managers within the South West London PACS consortium.
* To provide first line support to system users to deal with day-to-day faults and system/operator errors and problems.
* The post holder will be expected to contribute to the management of the Radiology service through the Senior Management team.
* There is no budgetary responsibility; however, the post holder is responsible for ordering specialist equipment, signing timesheets, and travel expenses for the team they manage.

Croydon Health Services provides integrated NHS services to care for people at home, in schools, and health clinics across the borough as well as at Croydon University Hospital, Purley War Memorial Hospital and the new Community Diagnostic Centre in New Addington. CUH provides more than 100 specialist services and is home to the borough’s only Emergency Department and 24/7 maternity services. Purley War Memorial Hospital offers outpatient care, including diagnostic services, physiotherapy and ophthalmology services run by Moorfields Eye Hospital, alongside an onsite GP surgery. The New Addington site offers outpatient and GP imaging in x-ray, ultrasound and CT, alongside various respiratory and cardiology outpatient services, and an onsite GP surgery.
