We are looking for experienced Family Practitioners to join our Family Practitioner Service and Early Help Team in Tamworth, Staffordshire. We are a dedicated team of professionals who work with children and their families across the Tamworth area, providing support and early interventions which have a positive impact on the lives of children and families, and empower parents and carers to be confident in their role.
We deliver a restorative practice model that focuses on keeping families together through community‑based approaches, empowering parents to be confident in their role as parents.
You’ll need to have a sound knowledge plus experience of working with those children and their families who may have complex needs.
2 posts – Fixed Term for 12 months
1 post – Permanent
Hours of work are 37 hours per week but with flexibility to manage your diary around the needs of families, which may include some evening or weekend work.
Main Responsibilities
Our Family Practitioners are key workers for the children and families we support.
In this role you’ll be:
* Leading on early help assessments and team‑around-the-family meetings to create plans for the children and families we support.
* Working together with social workers to support children in need, children on child protection plans, and children in care.
* Completing home and school visits to provide focussed direct work with children & families.
* Supporting mediation, crisis prevention, conflict resolution and life story work.
* Supporting on the completion of accurate documentation, reports and records relating to work you do with children, young people and their families within agreed timescales.
The Ideal Candidate
You will need to:
* Have an NVQ Level 3 related to working with children and families or equivalent and experience of working with children and families.
* Be confident to take the lead role in facilitating a plan of support around the child and family, coordinating the roles of multi‑agency.
* Be confident to provide high support but also high challenge when needed to ensure positive outcomes and sustained changes.
* Be flexible with working hours as there will be occasions where evening work may be needed, and some weekend working.
* Have a current UK driving licence and vehicle.
