CareerMakers Recruitment are working with a well-established manufacturing business in Accrington who are looking to appoint an experienced Logistics Coordinator to support their busy operations team. This is a key role within the business, with significant responsibility for coordinating logistics activities, managing shipments, and ensuring efficient distribution processes both domestically and internationally. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily logistics operations, including inbound and outbound shipments, transport scheduling, and delivery planning Manage shipping documentation, including export paperwork, customs declarations, and compliance requirements Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs agents to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any delays or issues proactively Maintain accurate logistics and shipment data within SPIRE and LITE systems Collaborate with internal departments (production, procurement, and warehouse teams) to align dispatch schedules with operational requirements Raise and manage transport bookings, ensuring appropriate carriers are selected based on cost, service, and urgency Monitor freight costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and export controls Support inventory movements and stock transfers between locations where required Investigate and resolve delivery discrepancies, damages, or losses in transit Prepare logistics reports and maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes Assist with continuous improvement initiatives within logistics and distribution processes About You We are looking for a highly organised and proactive individual with strong logistics coordination experience and attention to detail. You will have: Proven experience working as a Logistics Coordinator (or in a similar logistics/transport role) Strong knowledge of shipping processes, freight coordination, and export documentation Experience using SPIRE and LITE systems is advantageous Good understanding of supply chain and distribution operations Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Experience liaising with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers Working Hours Monday Thursday: 7:00am 4:00pm Friday: 7:00am 12:00pm Pay Rate Negotiable depending on experience (DOE) If you are interested in the role and have the relevant experience, please apply with your CV or call 01942 834107 for more information.
