DNA analysis at King’s sits within the School of Cancer and Pharmaceutical Science and is a UKAS17025 accredited forensic DNA testing laboratory which also has UK Ministry of Justice accreditation to carry out court-approved DNA tests. The Forensic Genetics and Genomics research groups, led by Professor Syndercombe Court and Dr David Ballard, are at the forefront of forensic DNA research, with both a national and international profile.
About The Role
This role provide scientific services within the DNA analysis at King’s ISO17025 accredited laboratory. Scientific services will be primarily related to DNA testing methods that are employed to clarify kinship relationships between individuals but may also include the application of these methods for criminal casework. The postholder will also provide general health and safety support for the department, which will take up the equivalent of 1 day a week.
This is a full time post, and will be offered on a fixed-term contract until 31/12/2026.
