This role offers hands-on experience working with young people who may be vulnerable to school exclusion, disengagement, or early contact with the justice system.
Join a specialist SEMH and SEN provision in Maidenhead as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), where your consistent support will help students rebuild confidence, develop emotional regulation, and repair relationships through restorative practices.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
1. Support young people with additional needs including autism, SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health), PDA, and communication differences.
2. Work with pupils who may be at risk of involvement with the youth justice system or unsafe peer influences.
3. Use restorative conversations and trauma-informed strategies to help students reflect, repair harm, and rebuild trust.
4. Support pupils in developing emotional resilience, safer decision-making, and positive peer relationships.
5. Be a dependable adult who models pro-social behaviour and reinforces accountability without judgement.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
11. Providing structured 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN, SEMH, and autism.
12. Supporting personalised learning plans that prioritise emotional development, wellbeing, and progress.
13. Using restorative approaches to address conflict — focusing on reflection, accountability, and repair rather than punishment.
14. Encouraging students to build self-awareness, empathy, and communication skills.
15. Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams, therapists, and families to monitor progress and adapt interventions.
16. Taking part in relational behaviour support and de-escalation training (full training provided).
Who We’re Looking For:
17. Graduates in Criminology, Psychology, Education, Sociology, Social Sciences, or Humanities.
18. Individuals who care about safeguarding, rehabilitation, and evidence-based early intervention.
19. Empathetic team players who value inclusion, respect neurodiversity, and believe that every young person deserves a second chance.
20. Experience in youth mentoring, coaching, or care settings is welcome — but not essential.
