Overview
Clerk of Works (Civils) – fixed term, 6 months, onsite at St Fergus Gas Terminal. The role reports to the Principal Contractor and supports the construction team.
Role Summary
The Clerk of Works acts as the on‑site representative for the Principal Contractor, providing independent inspection, quality assurance and progress verification for civil engineering works including pile raft slab, hardstanding and E&I trenching.
Responsibilities
* Quality and Compliance: Inspect and monitor civil works daily, review ITPs, raise NCRs, verify materials, liaise with design team.
* Progress Verification and Reporting: Monitor progress against programme, verify contractor claims, provide photographic evidence, maintain logs, submit weekly reports to Construction Manager.
* Health, Safety & Environmental Oversight: Promote safe practices, report unsafe work, support CDM 2015 compliance.
Qualifications
* HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* Proven site supervision/inspection experience or Clerk of Works on civil/industrial projects.
* Strong knowledge of concrete works, reinforcement, groundworks, trenching and drainage.
* Understanding of construction drawings, ITPs and CDM 2015.
* Competence with Microsoft Word and Excel, basic photo documentation tools.
