Location: Remote (must be North East based – podcast is filmed in Washington, Tyne & Wear)
Hours: Up to 10 hours per week (flexible)
Pay: National Minimum Wage (based on age)
Start Date: Flexible
Potential: Room to grow into a larger paid role for the right person
Are you a football obsessive with a flair for content? Got CapCut on your phone, clips in your camera roll, and big ideas for TikTok?
We're looking for a Social Media & Podcast Intern to support content and growth for the WL Podcast – a North East-based football show packed with weekly debates, blind rankings, controversial takes, and a bit of chaos.
This is a part-time paid position with flexible hours – ideal for a student, recent grad or junior creative looking to build real-world experience in social and podcast production. You'll be supported every step of the way by the podcast hosts and the creative team at Who's Listening, our North East-based marketing agency.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be working behind the scenes (and possibly in front of camera if you're up for it), helping us grow the podcast across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts.
Typical tasks:
* Clipping episodes into short-form content for social
* Editing videos using CapCut (or Premiere Pro/Final Cut if you prefer)
* Writing captions, headlines, and hooks that get people watching
* Researching guests, topics and trending sounds
* Supporting with creative ideas and segment planning
* Helping shape and schedule weekly content output
* Assisting in-studio on filming days (optional but encouraged)
What We're Looking For
This is for someone hungry to learn, eager to grow, and confident creating content – especially if you want to work in social, media, or sport.
You should be:
* Football mad – if you're not already watching the Premier League every weekend, this won't be for you
* Comfortable editing short-form video – CapCut experience is a minimum
* Familiar with TikTok, Reels and Shorts – you know what's trending and what flops
* Organised and reliable – deadlines are loose, but consistency is key
* Local to the North East – it's remote-first, but we record in Washington
* Friendly, open to feedback, and good with people
* Available for up to 10 hours per week (flexible based on availability and podcast needs)
What You'll Get
* Paid part-time experience at National Minimum Wage
* Up to 10 hours a week with flexible scheduling
* Real, portfolio-worthy content and social media output
* Creative freedom and the chance to pitch your own ideas
* Mentoring and support from the podcast and agency team
* Behind-the-scenes access to how a podcast is run
* A clear route into a bigger paid role if you impress us
How to Apply
If this sounds like your kind of gig, we'd love to hear from you.
Please send:
* A few lines about you and why you're interested
* Any relevant clips, edits or socials you've worked on (TikTok links are fine)
* A note on your general availability
We're not expecting a polished CV – we just want to see your passion, ideas, and what you could bring to the team.
