Job Title: Content Manager, Academic Books
Salary:£29,700 - £35,600
Location: Cambridge, UK - Hybrid
Contract: Fixed-term (12-month maternity cover)
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
About the Role
Your role will be to manage the entire production process of books across a range of subject areas, working with authors from submission of manuscripts to the delivery of final print and digital files.
Additional Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Liaising with authors
* Evaluating manuscripts and preparing titles for production
* Writing cover briefs
* Checking proofs and revised proofs
* Monitoring schedules and troubleshooting issues, involving freelancers and typesetters as needed
About You
It is expected that following experience would have been attained in the workplace:
* Experience in, or at least awareness of, the publishing industry
* Understanding of publishing and/or production/operations processes
* The ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing
* A high standard of computer literacy: full Microsoft package, Photoshop, Acrobat
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in your work
* The ability to work quickly to tight deadlines
* Confident managing multiple priorities and projects
* Excellent time management
