Technical Contract Manager (Mechanical bias)
Location: West London
Salary: Up to £75,000 + car allowance + benefits
About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for a Contract Manager with strong technical expertise in M&E services, particularly with a background in HVAC, gas systems, or mechanical infrastructure. This is a fantastic opportunity to oversee the delivery of facilities maintenance services across multiple high-profile academic and research sites.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Leading a multi-skilled technical team across multiple campus sites.
* Overseeing planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance and service excellence.
* Acting as the primary client liaison, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and long-term relationship building.
* Promoting a strong health & safety culture through visible leadership and regular audits.
* Managing performance against KPIs and SLAs.
* Driving operational improvements and efficiencies.
* Managing subcontractors, suppliers, and in-house engineers.
* Supporting budget control and commercial delivery, including P&L oversight.
What You'll Bring:
* Note: Applicants must have a technical/mechanical background for this particular role.
* Proven experience managing hard FM services in a client-facing environment.
* Strong knowledge of M&E systems, particularly HVAC or gas/mechanical services.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience managing CAFM systems, compliance, and contract reporting.
* IOSH Managing Safely (or an equivalent H&S qualification).
* NEBOSH General Certificate.
* HNC in Building Services Engineering or a similar qualification.
* Recognised engineering apprenticeship or trade background.
