Are you a seasoned Fire Systems Engineer ready to take the next step in your career? We’re on the lookout for a knowledgeable and driven individual to join a forward-thinking team delivering fire detection and alarm solutions across a variety of commercial and industrial environments.
What You’ll Be Doing:
You’ll take ownership of fire system projects from installation and commissioning through to maintenance and support. Working closely with a multidisciplinary security systems team, you'll handle a range of systems including addressable and non-addressable fire alarms, air sampling, beam detection, and wireless setups.
Key Responsibilities:
* Commission and hand over systems in full compliance with BS5839 and industry best practice
* Work confidently across multiple fire detection technologies and manufacturers
* Identify and communicate project risks or delays proactively
* Provide system demonstrations and handovers to clients
* Supervise third-party contractors on site (SSSTS certification required)
* Ensure all documentation meets FIA and BAFE standards using digital tools
* Promote and uphold health and safety best practices at all times
* Support integration of fire systems with other building technologies
* Contribute to the training and mentoring of junior engineers
What We’re Looking For:
* 8+ years’ experience in the fire systems industry
* FIA Advanced and Commissioning qualifications
* Deep knowledge of BS5839 (all parts)
* Skilled in programming cause and effect using a laptop across different system types
* Confident working independently and in client-facing settings
* Certifications: ECS/CSCS, IPAF, Asbestos Awareness, and SSSTS
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally (overnight stays may be required)
* Positive, proactive, and flexible – with a strong team ethic
