Job Advert: Electrician (Temporary Position) Location: Leeds Contract Type: Temporary, full-time Our agency is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to support the estates and facilities operations of a large public-sector organisation in Leeds. You will work across a varied property estate that includes a mix of older buildings and modern facilities. The role involves providing high-quality electrical maintenance, fault-finding, testing, and installation work within a busy and professional environment. Role Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on electrical systems and building services equipment. Undertake electrical installation work in connection with small upgrade and improvement projects. Perform mandatory electrical testing in accordance with current regulations and accurately interpret results. Diagnose and repair electrical faults across a range of electrical installations and equipment. Work on systems such as lighting, emergency lighting, alarms, power distribution, and basic building management components. Operate safely within established procedures and follow relevant electrical safety practices, including Permit to Work systems. Use appropriate tools and equipment and participate in required training to maintain up-to-date technical skills. Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others at all times. Candidate Requirements Recognised electrical qualification (such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) and a completed apprenticeship. Previous experience carrying out electrical maintenance within a large or complex estate. Strong understanding of electrical testing, inspection, and compliance requirements. Ability to work independently and use initiative to solve problems effectively. Flexible, reliable approach and willingness to work across different building types and priorities.
