A vacancy has arisen for a Team Leader to join the Ash Handling team at West Burton Power Station. This role will be responsible for the effective supervision of a team responsible for ash handling, including any subcontractors and agency staff under their control.
The role briefly encompasses the following:
1. Manage, lead by example, motivate, and deploy work to a trained and authorized team. Conduct pre-job and post-job briefs.
2. Ensure all procedures are followed correctly, in line with company policies, current legislation, and site rules.
3. Maximize and ensure all work is correctly managed and covered within their scope, with timely completion and proper documentation.
4. Assist in operating mobile plant and equipment as needed and cover managerial duties.
5. Ensure operational measuring tools are up to date and forwarded to relevant parties (e.g., KPI data).
6. Utilize manpower effectively, manage shift performance, and ensure health & safety procedures are followed.
7. Brief team members through toolbox talks and provide necessary information and instructions for compliance.
8. Conduct regular site visits and inspections to maintain safe working practices.
9. Identify opportunities for service improvement.
10. Manage holiday and rota coverage to prevent lapses in operations, ensuring smooth production and handling of materials.
11. Ensure team inductions for operating in designated areas, including HIS and subcontractors.
12. Manage fleet vehicles, ensuring safety checks, maintenance, and compliance with legislation.
13. Attend meetings with Hargreaves and clients as required.
14. Maintain relevant operational data on HIS and client systems regularly.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/attributes:
1. Excellent communication skills at all levels.
2. Ability to maintain detailed records.
3. IOSH certification at minimum.
4. WAMITAB qualification.
5. Experience operating machinery (e.g., ADT, F.E.L, tractor, water bowser, dozer).
6. Good computer skills.
7. First aid trained.
8. Reactive and proactive approach to service and operations.
9. Problem-solving skills and flexibility.
10. Professional personal presentation and hygiene.
11. Flexible work approach.
12. Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
13. Ability to work independently and proactively.
14. Good time management and willingness to cover operational shifts.

16. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
17. Willingness to undertake additional training as required.
18. Compliance with health and safety regulations, including face-fitting masks and being clean-shaven on site.
