Role Overview: The Accounts Administrator will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance department, ensuring that financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and processed efficiently. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience using Sage accounting software and a good understanding of standard accounting procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Process purchase and sales invoices using Sage
Reconcile bank statements and supplier accounts
Assist with VAT returns and other HMRC submissions
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions
Support with credit control and chasing outstanding payments
Assist with payroll preparation and data input (if required)
General admin duties including filing, answering finance-related queries, and maintaining spreadsheets
Provide support to the Finance Manager and wider team as needed
Requirements:
Proven experience in an accounts or finance administration role
Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 (or other Sage accounting platforms)
Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and VAT
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills
