Regional Business Development Executive

HYBRID (1 - 2 days/week in the office)

OTE: $85,000 - $95,000 per annum

Basic Scope and Primary Objectives

* Successfully sell THE’s site-wide subscription and partnership services to universities globally.
* Drive new business for branding and hiring solutions revenue streams.
* Plan and implement sales strategies for key markets.
* Build strong relationships with new and existing customers to ensure full utilization of subscriptions, supporting future renewals.
* Plan and run content-led panel discussions at key events, both in-person and online.
* Generate new business leads through market research and personal knowledge.
* Collaborate with the events team to sell exhibition and content partnership opportunities.


Candidate Requirements

* Support sales meetings with new and existing clients across designated territories.
* Implement new sales strategies in key markets using local knowledge and research.
* Attend industry and company events to drive sales opportunities.
* Accurately record sales, upgrades, and client information within Salesforce and other relevant systems for market awareness and analysis.
* Demonstrate a creative mindset to develop innovative sales and engagement strategies.
* Fully understand and communicate THE’s solutions packages and pricing structures to clients.
* Maintain high levels of customer care at all times.
* Work collaboratively with regional heads to maximize revenue opportunities.
* Focus on achieving individual and group targets as set by THE.


Person Specification


Essential Skills and Qualifications

* Highly driven and self-motivated, with a passion for learning and development.
* Experience in new business development and sales.
* Strong networking skills.
* Evidence of commercial acumen.
* Creative and original thinking.
* Confidence in delivering presentations to clients.


Desirable Skills and Qualifications

* International sales experience.
* Degree-level qualification or equivalent.
* Experience in events management.
* Experience in subscription sales.
* Experience presenting and leading panel sessions at events.
* Background in content-led media or news businesses.


Required Knowledge and Skills

* Excellent listening and communication skills.
* Proven ability to build long-term client relationships.
* Computer literacy.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Ability to prioritize workloads and manage time effectively.
* Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
* Willingness to travel.
