Job Description Job Title : Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) Location : Avebury Working Hours: 3 Days a Week (with potential to become a permanent position) Reporting to : Lead GP/Practice Manager Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our dynamic healthcare team as a locum, with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent role. The ANP will be responsible for delivering high-quality primary care services, working autonomously to assess, diagnose, and manage patients’ healthcare needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities - Provide comprehensive, autonomous clinical assessments, diagnoses, and treatments for a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions. - Prescribe medications and treatments in line with current legislation and practice policies. - Deliver ongoing management of chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, COPD, and hypertension. - Perform clinical examinations, including physical assessments, venepuncture, and diagnostic testing where appropriate. - Provide health promotion, education, and disease prevention advice to patients and their families. - Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with practice guidelines. - Participate in clinical audits, case reviews, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. - Support the delivery of vaccination and immunization programs in line with practice and public health requirements. - Attend and contribute to clinical meetings and staff training as required. Skills & Qualifications - Registered Nurse (NMC Pin) with postgraduate qualifications in advanced practice. - Independent prescribing qualification (V300). - Minimum 3 years of post-registration experience in a primary care or similar setting. - Proven ability to work autonomously, demonstrating strong clinical decision-making skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Proficiency in managing chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes, and cardiovascular conditions. - Familiarity with EMIS or other electronic health record systems is desirable.
