Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to support the kitchen operations in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment. Responsibilities
* Assist chefs and cooks in the preparation of meals, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
* Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the safe handling and storage of ingredients.
* Help with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations during service periods.
* Support with inventory management by checking stock levels and assisting in ordering supplies as needed.
* Participate in catering events by preparing food items according to specific requirements.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and delivery.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
* Basic knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods.
* Understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy kitchen setting.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
