SEND Teaching Assistant – Part Time - Walsall (Start Date: March 2026)
Full-Time and Part-Time | Support Role | Primary & Secondary Across the School
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Part Time (Monday–Friday, variable days)

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school community in Walsall starting March 2026.

About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with a range of special educational needs across the school. You must be prepared to work with children of all ages.
Your role will include:
* Providing 1:1 and small-group support for children with SEND
* Assisting with personalised learning plans
* Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
* Supporting children with communication, sensory or physical needs
* Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
* Helping create an inclusive, supportive, and safe learning environment
Key Responsibilities
* Support classroom learning and adapt activities for pupils with SEND
* Deliver targeted interventions based on individual needs
* Help monitor pupil progress and provide ongoing feedback
* Promote independence, confidence, and well-being in all learners
* Assist with care needs where required
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
* Maintain a patient, calm, and nurturing approach

* Experience supporting children with SEND (desired but not essential)

* Ability to work flexibly across different age groups
* A passion for helping children thrive academically and emotionally
* Willingness to learn and take part in training
Teaching Assistant qualifications (Level 2 or Level 3) are beneficial but not required.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
