Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the City of Wolverhampton’s Attendance Service, as an Elective Home Education Officer. The Attendance Service works alongside schools and families to encourage the education engagement of young people within Wolverhampton, to ensure positive outcomes for all.
We are looking for an experienced and proactive individual to join and enhance the Attendance Team and ensure the Local Authority’s statutory duties around elective home education are carried out effectively. This is an exciting post which will require the successful candidate to work collaboratively with families, schools and partner agencies in ensuring all young people are receiving a suitable education.
The Attendance Team is part of Wolverhampton's SEND and Inclusion service, which includes the Educational Psychology Service, SEN Early Identification and Support team and Inclusion team. This is a forward-thinking service which places best outcomes for children and young people at the heart of all we do.
Key Requirements
* Be self-motivated and be able to demonstrate an ability to work on their own initiative as part of a fast-moving team, within statutory frameworks.
* Have experience and knowledge of legal processes and relevant legislation relating to elective home education.
* Be able to demonstrate their understanding and application of guidance regarding elective home education, children missing education and school attendance.
* Have the ability to develop excellent working relationships with Schools, families and partner agencies
* Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Have demonstrable ability to provide support and challenge where needed.

Contract Details
Salary - £44,075 - £49,282 (Grade 7)
Hours - 37 hours per week
Contract type - Full time, permanent
Work Style - Flexible working, 2 days office based
