Location: Ilford, East London
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Long-Term & Bank Staff Opportunities
Salary: £100 - £110 (dependent on experience)

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs?

A vibrant and inclusive mainstream Primary School in Ilford is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2025. The school is looking for both long-term staff and bank staff to support across a range of settings.

These roles are offered through Destination Education, a specialist education recruitment agency working in close partnership with schools across London and the surrounding counties. We are currently supporting this Ilford based school in finding high-quality SEN support staff for the new academic year.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs, either:

Within the mainstream classroom, providing 1:1 or small group support
Or in the school’s dedicated SEN resource provision, where pupils receive tailored, structured support in a smaller settingYou will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff to ensure each child receives the attention and strategies they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide targeted support for pupils with EHCPs or identified additional needs
Assist with personal care and emotional regulation when required
Support learning across core subjects through adapted resources and techniques
Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour to the SEN team
Work collaboratively with external agencies and therapists, where appropriateWhat we’re Looking For:

Previous experience working with children with SEN (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language, SEMH, etc.)
A patient, resilient, and flexible approach
A passion for inclusion and supporting all learners
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)The School Offers:
