Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 or 6 Community Mental Health Practitioner to join our Community Mental Health Team based in Brecon.
The role can be offered at either a Band 6 or Annex 21. The position starts at Band 5 with a one-year training program to attain the competencies required for a Community Mental Health Practitioner in Adult Mental Health, fulfilling the duties outlined for Band 6.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing specialist assessment, treatment, and care to a caseload of individuals with moderate to severe mental health difficulties within the community.
The successful candidate will deliver care within the legal frameworks of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010, the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, and the Mental Health Act (1983).
We seek someone enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible, capable of working autonomously and collaboratively with statutory and non-statutory providers.
Effective communication and engagement skills are essential, along with current evidence-based knowledge, a recovery-focused approach, and a commitment to trauma-informed care.

Essential Qualifications
* Registered Mental Health Professional with the relevant professional body
* Evidence of continuous professional development
* Extensive knowledge of mental health issues
* Advanced knowledge of mental health legislation and practice
* Knowledge of Care and Treatment plans
* Understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983 relevant to community psychiatric care
* Understanding of clinical governance
* For Band 6 Annex 21: Commitment to undertake a one-year training program to achieve the necessary competencies
Desirable Skills and Experience
* WARRN, CBT qualifications, Psycho-social interventions, teaching qualification
* Experience supervising and developing junior staff
* Knowledge of WARRN, ICT skills, and skills to promote service user involvement
