The Opportunity
A well established engineering consultancy operating on technical Land and Marine projects are looking for an Engineering Resource manager to support the successful delivery of technical projects. As an Engineering Resource Manager you will play a pivotal role in shaping and deploying its engineering capability.
This is a strategic and people-focused role, ideal for someone who enjoys balancing long-term workforce planning, talent development, and operational delivery in a fast-paced engineering setting
What You’ll Be Doing
Own engineering resource planning, ensuring the right skills are in the right place at the right time
Lead recruitment, onboarding, deployment and development of engineering capability
Build and maintain SQEP profiles, skills matrices and training plans
Manage engagement with engineering consultancies and contractors
Produce and manage resource forecasts, KPIs and departmental reporting
Support succession planning and long-term strategic workforce plans
Ensure engineering tools, software and licences are fit for purpose
Lead or support process improvement and digital / tooling initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Strong experience in engineering resource or workforce management
Background in regulated engineering or manufacturing environments
Proven capability in planning, analytics and stakeholder engagement
Experience with recruitment, contractors and external suppliers
Confident working cross-functionally with engineering, HR, finance and operations
Comfortable influencing at all levels, from engineers to senior leadership
Knowledge of training frameworks, competence management and succession planning
SAP or ERP exposure beneficial
Qualifications:
Diploma or equivalent experience (essential)
Engineering degree and/or professional registration (desirable, not essential)
