We are currently recruiting for a Production Manager to join us on our SM2 Factory in Leicester. Responsibilities; Compliance with all company and legislative safe systems of work and operational procedures Proactively ensuring that a safe working environment exists working to standards set out in the health and safety policies Proactively look for opportunities to reduce risk Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained using the visual audit standard Environmental Compliance with Environment Agency Operating Permit Compliance with company and industry standards Production Ensure production operations are carried out in compliance with relevant standards and policies. Production planning and co-ordination in line with S&OP standards within the business Applying effective problem solving techniques to improve ways of working Manage and control stockyard and logistics operation including Planning coordination with site engineering team People Management of two production shifts People Facilitate appraisal sessions with direct and non-direct reports to in line with Ibstock values. Day to day ER case management, including conduct, performance and attendance in line with company policies. Coaching and mentoring site supervisory team including objective setting and development planning Drive efficient communications on site in line with communications matrix including daily tier meetings and effective team briefs. Continuous improvement Monitor equipment performance and reliability, with analysis and implementation of identified improvements. Drive TIMWOOD waste reduction efforts on site involving production teams. Apply lean techniques to optimise production processes and coach production teams Quality Systems Ensure the plant operates in line with company procedures in order to meet the 3 rd party accreditation systems. Ibstock operates an Intergraded Management System (IMS) which encompasses ISO 9001, ISO 14001. Related Activities Assist in the general factory operations as may be required Qualifications; Management qualification desirable High standard of general education Competent IT skills including all standard Microsoft Office packages. Experience Good knowledge and experience of a continuous production process, preferably in a heavy bulk materials environment Experience of working within a manufacturing environment Excellent record of managing Health, safety, quality and environmental performance Experience of working in or understanding of shift team systems People management and reporting Practical Skills Excellent interpersonal skills Organised with the ability to plan and manage own work load to ensure strict deadlines are adhered to Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong numerical ability and application Ability to work under own initiative and as a member of a team Commercial awareness Our commitment to diversity and inclusion?
