Area Sales Executive
Location:
The preferred location for this role is within the North West of England—ideally near Manchester, Liverpool, or Preston—with responsibilities covering the UK market or operating on a nationwide basis.
Job Summary:
Candidates will be reporting to our Operations & Service Manager, you will manage new and existing customer relationships with a target to grow sales to achieve budgeted levels of revenue and profit while offering excellent customer service. Responsible for sales of CompAir products including compressors, air treatment and associated equipment.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategies to achieve short, medium and longer term budgeted sales and margin.
2. Manage and develop Equipment and Aftermarket sales.
3. Maintain an updated knowledge of competitor activity and plans, taking action and making recommendations as necessary.
4. Manage the commercial position of the Company in its market, taking a balanced view of market share growth and margin improvement.
5. Manage pricing and negotiate prices for new business within set parameters to achieve budgets and Company plans.
6. Take responsibility for promotion of company including organisation and attendance at trade shows.
7. Manage costs to achieve budgeted levels.
8. Represent the company with customers and elsewhere as needed, making visits as necessary.
9. Assist in the development of the annual sales target.
10. Take a lead position in all areas of business to resolve problems of supply, quality, liability, debt collection, etc. ensuring a satisfactory outcome and looking for a win-win position where possible.
11. Assist the company in driving product development
12. Responsible for administration activities such as quotation logs and CRM system
13. Report on activities as necessary.
Qualifications/Education
14. Technical qualification in mechanical or Electrical Engineering and/or in business or sales related area are preferred.
Experience:
15. Proven experience of sales management skills is essential.
16. Technical Sales experience in Compressor or similar industry is essential.
17. Project management experience is preferred

18. Proficient in MS Office, Lotus Notes and SAL is essential.
19. Leadership and management skills are desirable.
20. High level of commercial awareness is essential.
21. Good negotiating and influencing capabilities at senior level are essential
22. Good communication skills and able to effectively interact in all areas of the business is essential.
23. Positive and proactive approach is essential.
24. Presentation and report writing skills are essential.
25. Excellent verbal, written and presentations skills are essential.
26. Ability to solve problems and a “can do” attitude are essential.
27. Flexibility and adaptability to changing work requirements and multiple projects are essential.
