The imaging department at Weston General Hospital is looking to recruit a Band 6 MRI Specialist Radiographer on a Bank Contract. This is a fixed-term Maternity Cover post for 1 year.
Applications are invited from Radiographers who have a minimum of 2 years MRI experience. Previous NHS experience is essential.
Role development is encouraged, and the department is committed to supporting CPD. Applicants will be expected to be involved in training student radiographers.
We require staff with excellent communication skills, a flexible approach and attitude, and a commitment and passion to deliver and improve the service. Weston General Hospital Radiology Department is accredited by QSI, and all members are encouraged to play an active role within this.

Responsibilities include:
1. To produce high-quality images.
2. To have a broad knowledge of MRI scanning and safety protocols.
3. To have expert knowledge with CRIS and PACS.
4. Good communication skills – verbally to patients and carers, other health service staff both within and outside the organisation, and written skills for communicating with other health service personnel.
5. Must be able to liaise effectively with staff of all levels, conveying information about patients, diagnoses, equipment malfunction, technical aspects of scans, etc.
6. Proven ability to communicate effectively with patients and carers to obtain correct images.
7. Able to communicate effectively and sensitively with highly stressed and emotional patients, especially newly diagnosed cancer patients in CT.
8. Good team working skills.
