About Us:
Greenjets is an innovative engineering company developing high-performance propulsion systems for the aviation market. Our work spans research and development, engine production, aircraft systems, technical integration and flight testing. We are committed to delivering high-grade engineering and best-in-class propulsion for unmanned aircraft.
We do things differently. We move fast, we experiment and we adopt technologies that push beyond the current state of the art. Our aim is to go further, faster and more efficiently, while keeping costs competitive.
All our propulsion systems are designed, developed and manufactured in the UK. We focus on high quality, reliable and cost effective products supported by a robust, secure and ethical supply chain.
About the Job:
The Aircraft Development Technician plays a key role in bringing aircraft designs to life through hands‑on build, integration and testing. This role focuses on assembling, modifying and maintaining prototype aircraft, supporting engineers by turning designs into fully functioning hardware ready for ground and flight testing.
You’ll work closely with Mechanical and Aircraft Design Engineers, supporting the integration of propulsion systems, avionics and structures, and helping solve the real‑world challenges that arise during build and test.
This is a highly practical, workshop‑based role, ideal for someone who enjoys building and working on physical systems — whether from an aerospace background or hands‑on experience in UAVs, model aircraft or similar.
What You'll Do:
* Build and assemble aircraft structures and subsystems from engineering drawings and instructions
* Install and integrate propulsion systems, avionics, control systems and payloads
* Support ground testing and flight testing activities
* Troubleshoot and resolve build and integration issues during assembly and test
* Modify and rework aircraft components based on engineering feedback
* Assist with field operations during test campaigns
* Maintain build records, documentation and configuration control
* Ensure tools, equipment and workspaces are maintained to a high standard
Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Attributes:
* Background in aerospace, mechanical engineering or equivalent hands‑on technical experience
* Strong practical skills — assembly, wiring, bonding, mechanical fitting
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models
* Experience building or operating UAVs, model aircraft or experimental systems is highly valued
* Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, prototype‑driven environment
* Strong attention to detail and quality
* Practical problem‑solver with a proactive, “get it done” mindset
* Willingness to learn, adapt and get hands‑on with new technologies
