Brand new role for an Instrument Project Engineer in the Oil and Gas sector!
* Work is based at Humber Refinery/ Newton
* Long term role - 12 months
* Hourly rate inside IR35
Role Overview
To ensure engineering requirements are properly implemented and instrumentation technical support is provided to support Company operations and the development of new projects.
Responsibilities include:
1. Supporting and guiding design and drafting personnel in producing drawings and specifications to Company Standards, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
2. Coordinating activities to ensure design packages are completed on schedule.
3. Serving as a focal point between the Project Contractor, Vendors (including Equipment suppliers and subcontractors), Company Project Team, and Records Group.
4. Ensuring site measurement and investigation work are completed for safe and economical construction.
5. Providing feedback to the Records Group to improve standards and procedures for future projects.
Primary Functions/Responsibilities
1. Providing instrument engineering expertise for estimates, design, and construction.
2. Reviewing project scope to identify uncertainties or omissions and engaging in discussions to clarify scope.
3. Producing specifications and calculations as required.
4. Assisting in generating cost estimates.
5. Maintaining good relationships with stakeholders.
6. Ensuring all designs and documentation comply with company standards, including vendor and manufacturer information.
7. Producing Management of Change documentation.
8. Producing Safety Instrumented Systems documentation aligned with IEC61511 standards.
Critical Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
* Experience working on a top-tier COMAH site.
* Technical competence in protection concepts for Hazardous Areas.
* Design and management of Safety Instrumented Systems experience.
* Degree in Control/Electronic Systems or equivalent; alternatively, HNC in Instrument & Control Operations Engineering with 10 years' experience at Engineer grade.
* Chartered Engineer status is desirable.
