ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced Head of Contracts to oversee the successful delivery of multiple projects from contract award through to final account. Leading a team of Contracts Managers, you’ll ensure contractual, financial, and operational excellence across all live projects.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing and negotiating JCT contracts, variations, valuations, and final accounts.
2. Overseeing contract administration to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
3. Driving project programming using MS Project, identifying critical paths, and issuing delays or EOT notices.
4. Leading weekly internal project reviews and attending client meetings to ensure project success.
5. Managing project cash flow, budgets, and financial reporting.
6. Maintaining strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact for contractual matters.
7. Ensuring health & safety and quality standards are rigorously upheld.
8. Mentoring and developing your team to achieve their full potential.
You’ll also play a strategic role in setting up a small works division and contributing to broader business development initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS
9. At least 10 years of contracts management experience within the construction sector, with a proven track record of managing JCT contracts.
10. Strong background in contract administration, project programming, critical path analysis, and financial management of construction projects.
11. Professional construction qualifications (CIOB membership or equivalent) preferred.
12. Excellent knowledge of MS Project, construction contracts, commercial law, and risk management.
13. A collaborative leader with a hands-on approach, exceptional communication, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills.
14. Committed to maintaining high standards of health & safety and client service.
15. Must hold or be able to obtain a valid CSCS card.

16. Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 per annum

19. Flexible working: Some hybrid working offered, but you will primarily be based in the office (Henley) with regular visits to sites in London (approx. 2 days/week)
